If mental health first aid is needed, it’s crucial to take action, as you might be the only support for the person. Approaching them shows care, signals their well-being matters, and opens the door for further discussion and support.

You might need to approach someone if:

  • You observe concerning behavior in someone you know.
  • They come to you for help or share their mental health struggles.
  • Someone highlights a person struggling with mental health.
  • You’re called on as an accredited MHFAider® or MHFA Officer to assist during a crisis.

No matter the situation, the ALGEE Action Plan can guide your approach effectively.
